A Fate Inked in Blood is Book 1 of Danielle Jensen's Saga of the Unfated Series. This is hands down one of my favorite books of all time. It's a Viking retelling with a very strong, complex, and interesting FMC. Freya has a very "take control" spirit, even with everything that has happened to her. She understands how the world around her works and how she can best survive it. Her self-sacrificing concern for others makes her an extremely relatable FMC.
Also, everyone knows I can't resist a good fish slap! This story had everything I wanted in it: mythology, tension, surprising plot twists, big reveals, and enemies to lovers you will absolutely swoon for. Plus, it was so funny! There were so many scenes I laughed out loud at.
Danielle has such an amazing way of creating a world you want to be a part of, even sans electricity and wi-fi. The story constantly had me guessing and was filled with so many thrills and excitement. You really feel like you are stepping into Skaland while you are reading.
Danielle's writing is so smart and intriguing. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series! I want to know so much more about Freya and Bjorn, and where their cliffhanger of an ending will leave them in book 2.
